Listed on the State Register of Historic Places, 4/03/2014. Two barns and one barn with silo - on west side of Rte 7. Sign indicates the active vegetable farming on adjacent bottom land next to Housatonic River. The Kent Land Trust owns this farm which is operated organically as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture).
About the Farmland. Located at the gateway to the Berkshires, the farm’s fields and barns were acquired by the Kent Land Trust in order to preserve and protect the rural character and beauty of Kent. The farm’s soil type, a silt loam, is highly suited to vegetable cultivation.
Marble Valley is a small, ecologically-managed farm in Kent, emphasizing a broad range of vegetable varieties with outstanding flavor, nutrition, and visual & historical appeal.
