Function. The Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet is designed to protect the eyes and face from sparks, splatter, and harmful radiation under normal welding conditions. The Auto-Darkening Filter automatically changes from a clear state to a dark state when an arc is struck, and it returns to the clear state when welding stops.

Wear body protection made from durable, flame−resistant material (leather, heavy cotton, wool). Body protection includes oil-free clothing such as leather gloves, heavy shirt, cuffless trousers, high shoes, and a cap. Before welding, adjust the auto-darkening lens sensitivity setting to meet the application.
To replace the inside lens cover, remove the lens as-sembly from the lens frame by pushing up on the top two retaining tabs while gently pushing the lens free. Remove the lens cover by sliding it out of either side. Replace with the new cover lens and reinstall the assem-bly in the helmet. 5-2.

This Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet will automatically change from a light state (shade DIN3.5) to a dark state (shade DIN9-13) when arc welding starts. The filter automatically returns to a light state when the arc stops. Match your welding application to the shade indicated on the shade chart.

There are four headgear adjust-ments: headgear top, tightness, angle adjustment, and distance adjustment. Adjusts headgear for proper depth on the head to ensure correct bal-ance and stability.
