Malibu Sport & Social Club is a multi sport athletic club based in Malibu, California. The club currently fields teams for football, american football, basketball, volleyball, and spikeball.
The club was founded in 2021 in a dorm room on the Malibu campus of Pepperdine University. Lucas Borrilez came up with an idea for a multi-sport intramural club modeled after European athletic clubs like FC Barcelona. The club intentionally does not define itself with any specific colors, with Lucas Borrilez stating that "club colours can become iconic but they are certainly limiting when creating new jerseys each year". Black and White are the official club colors with jersey colors being voted on each year. The 2021 color was sky blue. The 2022 color is rumored to be lavender. The jersey's are made by Kappa and are unsponsored as of 2021.
The club has attempted to replicate Ultras supporter culture but it has yet to catch on entirely. "The Society" is the official supporters group of Sport & Social Club.
The football team is the most successful department of Sport & Social Club. Turkey Cup semi-finalists as well as Advanced League semi-finalists in it's inaugural season, the club rightly has ambitious plans, planning to join the UPSL as an expansion franchise in 2023.
For long term goals, the club hopes to found an academy team in the future to provide opportunities for young footballers in the area.
The Basketball team is co-captained by Conner Marsh and famous Tiktok star Joel Lee. The team reached the quarter finals of Pepperdine's March Madness tournament in 2021.
The volleyball team competes in the advanced league at Pepperdine University. The team made it to the quarter finals in 2021.
The team fielded an american flag football team in 2021. The team did not reach the playoffs.
