Actor: The Devil's Own. Malachy McCourt entered the world in Brooklyn, New York - where his parents lived at the time - and was raised in Limerick, Ireland. He managed to fail every subject in school, except English and recess. In 1952, he returned to the United States and worked as a longshoreman, dishwasher, and laborer.

He was the longest-lived of their seven offspring, following the death of his younger brother Alphonsus in 2016.
