In series 2, the mermaids continue to discover Mako's secrets and learn more about the merman chamber. While Lyla and Nixie go in search of a new home, Sirena is left with Ondina and Mimmi, new mermaids who continue the effort to remove Zac's powers and reclaim the island for their pod.
But on the night of a full moon, the mischievous mermaid girls neglect their duties. Sixteen year-old land-dweller Zac enters the Moon Pool and forms a special connection with Mako.
The two play an ancient mermaid game to see who was taught their powers better. Back at the beach, Erik is accidentally splashed and is forced to rush into the ocean. Cam goes after him and is shocked to learn that Erik is a merman.
