Lutz Seiler (born 8 June 1963 in Gera, Thuringia) is a German poet and novelist.
Lutz Seiler (* 8. Juni 1963 in Gera) ist ein deutscher Schriftsteller. Er trat zunächst vor allem als Lyriker hervor. Für seinen Debütroman Kruso wurde er 2014 mit dem Deutschen Buchpreis ausgezeichnet. 2020 erhielt er den Preis der Leipziger Buchmesse für seinen Roman Stern 111. 2023 erhielt er den Georg-Büchner-Preis .
Poet, novelist and essayist Lutz Seiler was born in Gera, Thuringia, in 1963 and today lives in Wilhelmshorst, near Berlin, and in Stockholm. After an apprenticeship in construction, he worked as a carpenter and bricklayer. Since 1997, he has been the literary director and custodian of the Peter Huchel Haus.
His 2014 debut novel, Kruso, won nu. Lutz Seiler grew up in the Langenberg district of Gera, Thuringia (former East Germany). After training as a skilled building construction worker, he worked as a bricklayer and carpenter.
