Richard Loving, a white man, and Mildred Jeter, a black woman, fall in love and get married in 1950s Virginia. When the authorities learn about that they get arrested and convicted for breaking the state's anti-miscegenation law. To avoid prison they relocate to DC but after a few years they decide to fight their case in the courts.
