Louis Lenart (April 24, 1921 – July 20, 2015) was a Hungarian-born American-Israeli fighter pilot. [1] His exploits during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War were documented in the 2015 documentary film A Wing and a Prayer. [2]
Mini Bio. Louis "Lou" Lenart has been the IDF coordinator for several motion pictures, including the first two Iron Eagle films; the first of which he was also the associate producer. But Lou Lenart is perhaps best known as the Check Yeager of the Israeli Air Force.

Louis “Lou” Lenart was an American Jewish pilot who played an integral role in the founding of the Israeli Air Force (IAF). Lou was born in Hungary and emigrated to the United States with his parents at the age of 10 to escape from rising antisemitism in Europe.
