  7. I think what makes Lorna work so well is how complex the titular character is. Powerful and independent women are a common theme in Meyer’s movies, but the character of Lorna is in many ways the opposite. She’s essentially the oppressed, bored housewife stereotype, but seeing that portrayed in a film from 1964 is genuinely quite revolutionary.
