Jun 16, 2022 · In the late 1990s she established Long Barn Books, the origins of which she describes in this way: “I started the imprint with the small paperback of Listening to the Orchestra and Other Stories which sold almost 12,000 copies. I was not planning to publish my own books in general.
1 review of Long Barn Books "I bought a book from this company on 4th August 2017. It hasn't arrived - and this is 21st August. I've contacted them through the website on a number of occasions but without success.

DISCLOSURE: I own my copy of Hero (Simon Serrailler series #8.6) by Susan Hill and published by Long Barn Books. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own personal opinions.

In 1996 she started her own publishing company, Long Barn Books, editing and publishing a quarterly literary journal, Books and Company, in 1998. She won a Somerset Maugham Award for I'm the King of the Castle (1970); the Whitbread Novel Award for The Bird of Night (1972); and the Mail on Sunday /John Llewellyn Rhys Prize for The Albatross (1971), a collection of short stories.

Heavily annotated and unusable as an A level guide. The book was cheap and arrived fairly quickly, however although I knew it was second hand I did not expect it to be heavily annotated and highlighted throughout. I had to go and buy a new one as it was for A level study. Date of experience: 19 October 2024.
