Lodge 49 is an American comedy-drama television series created by Jim Gavin. [6] It aired on the cable television network AMC in the United States from August 6, 2018, to October 14, 2019, spanning two seasons and 20 episodes. The title alludes to the novella The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon, which Gavin references as an inspiration.
But when it comes to Lodge 49 on AMC, all of those rules are in essence thrown out of the window, and this series…well this one apparently knew its audience from the get-go because it is already telling us a flawless story that knows how to ebb and flow in a way to please its fans.
Ernie is a bit slow and keeps making the lodge sound pedestrian and like an old man's supper club, but eventually comes around thanks to his young Squire, who plays up the rituals, the costumes, the secrets, and most importantly, the mystery. Intrigued, Gary needs to know more.
