Jun 1, 2020 · When Letters of Ayn Rand was published in 1995, it was the first of numerous books to emerge from the Ayn Rand Papers (which consists of material owned by Ayn Rand at her death in 1982).
Letters of Ayn Rand is a book derived from the letters of the novelist and philosopher Ayn Rand. It was published in 1995, 13 years after Rand's death. It was edited by Michael Berliner with the approval of Rand's estate.
Ayn Rand’s surviving letters track the arc of her career from a budding playwright and novelist in the 1930s to an accomplished author of best sellers in the 1940s and 1950s to a philosopher and cultural commentator in the 1960s and 1970s.
Through the 1960s and early ’70s, Ayn Rand edited and published a series of periodicals. The last of these was a biweekly newsletter called The Ayn Rand Letter, which was published from October 1971 to February 1976. This 400-page volume reproduces the entire contents of each issue.
