Laura Baumesiter was born and raised in Nicaragua, where she later trained at Mexico's Centro de Capacitacion Cinematografica. In addition to being a filmmaker, she is a sociologist, and has earlier directed the short films, Isabel in Winter (2014), Fuerza Bruta (2016) and Omblingo de Agua (2018).
