★★½ Watched by Paul Senior 27 Nov 2022 In the shitty future, a man finds he can use his dreams to change reality. After watching the 1980 version this morning, this feels generic and bland.
This combined multiple of my favorite interests into one thriller/sci-fi movie. I loved it! I haven’t read the novel though, so I don’t know if it’s a good adaption. The (relatively?) low budget made the movie an amazing watching experience.
Anyway, The Lathe of Heaven takes place in Portland, OR. The final scene of this movie (and don't worry, this is hardly a spoiler at all) features characters walking alongside a distinctive cascade. Now, Portland… ★★★★★
