You're not the only one! Considering how much high regard Chaos is held in, I thought people would really lilke to play a multiplayer online version. I also did a multiplayer Populous game which never took off. The only one that's survived and still going is my Laser Squad remake.

Laser Squad is a turn-based tactics war game where the player completes objectives such as rescue or retrieval operations, or simply eliminating all of the enemy by taking advantage of cover, squad level military tactics, and careful use of weaponry.
For weapons the squad can buy automatic and sniper rifes, light and heavy duty lasers, explosives, AP50 grenades and daggers, all providing different levels of damage for varying cost. The type of mission to be undertaken dictates the tactics and weapons the squad will use.
The fate of the free planets hangs in the balance LASER SQUAD is a futuristic, tactical wargame that captures life-like characteristics of a commando unit. Every move must be carefully calculated to amount for the morale, energy, and strengths of each soldier.

The Laser Squad of the title seem to be a freelance rebel sharpshooting team, here involved in three scenarios simulating individual scenarios for one or two players. It's a pity more work wasn't put into characterizing the squad members as this would obviously add to the atmosphere.
