Afterwards, Larry Borjas and Robert Martinez received draft notices and opted to enlist to avoid being sent to Vietnam. The remaining band members continued while Rodriguez improvised an organ riff, and "?" introduced a composition he had been developing for a while in his head.
When Larry Borjas and Robert Martinez got drafted, it was Eddie who took over and was on the original recording. Serrato died of muscular dystrophy; his legacy is addressed on the website. Even Mel Schacher made a brief appearance before he went on to Grand Funk fame.

Oct 13, 2023 · After Larry Borjas and Robert Martinez left the group for military service, the band recruited Eddie Serrato as a replacement drummer and Fernando Aguilar on bass, who was later replaced by Frank Lugo.
May 4, 2021 · The initial group was a trio of musicians born to immigrant farmers. The three were Robert Martinez (drums), Larry Borjas (guitar) and Bobby Balderrama (lead guitar). They had been inspired by Link Wray and Duane Eddy, and also by surf instrumentals in the early going stages.
Formed in Saginaw, Michigan in 1964, Question Mark joined up with friends Bobby Balderrama (guitar), Robert Martinez (drums) and Larry Borjas (bass), taking as a band name the title of a 1957 Japanese sci-fi movie, The Mysterians.
