Feb 11, 2020 · The 3.5L Ecoboost gen 2 is a different engine from the 1st gen 3.5 Eco. I didn't have trust in the 1st generation. Same as the 2018+ 5.0L is a completely different engine from the 2017 and previous 5.0L. The 2018+ also came with the new 10 speed transmission.
