Feb 18, 2024 · It was Atlas Film that released Goldrausch sometime in 1962, with a new score by Konrad Elfers, and Chaplin immediately filed charges. He won his case in June 1963. Atlas appealed. Chaplin prevailed on May 19, 1972, and the film was then withdrawn.
Konrad Elfers was born on 25 October 1919. He was a composer and actor, known for A Bad Moms Christmas (2017), Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler (1922) and The Coldest Game (2019). He died on 22 September 1996.

John Barry was replaced on the sequel by German composer Konrad Elfers, and the music for Funeral in Berlin is a lot less subtle, with more jaunty, oompah-type music. Presumably, the intention was to give the film more of a German flavour to match its principal setting.

The original version has the best music. It is by Konrad Elfers who is little known. I have been researching him and his music for about 15 years and there is very little info out there. Every year something new pops up on the internet and he even has a wiki page now. That was not always the case.
