  1. Sep 25, 2019 · I'm in need of an option for moving my 6000lb boat around my property but due to some tight locations, I feel that the tractor is the way to go. I have an L4701 with the L765. I'm considering either a quick attach for the front, a clamp-on ball or a 3point trailer hitch. The tongue weight is around 600 so weight isn't a factor.

  2. Apr 21, 2022 · The required 3-point hitch goes off the tractor’s horsepower. There are seven main categories of 3-point hitches and an additional limited hitches for some of the categories. The category number increases as the tractor and implements get larger and heavier. The chart below shows the different categories and their details. Category.

    • Summary

The Easy Change system modifies only the lower two (lift) links of the 3-point hitch by adding extensions to them. These extensions allow quick connection to the attachment lift pins. The top link is connected using the normal connection process. I’ve often wondered why tractor manufacturers continue to supply the standard ‘ball’ connection ...

This is the quick hitch I have. I didn’t purchase it from the Amazon link here. Rather I purchased from Harbor Freight with a 20% off coupon. This hitch is the most cost effective on the market. Of course, that means there is compromise somewhere, right? This hitch is more ‘bulky’ than the more expensive hitches. The frame is larger (but lik...

The Deere I-Match hitch is the most popular ‘premier’ hitch for John Deere compact tractors. It is sleek, compact and looks great on the Deere tractors. The only problem….cost. It is a VERY expensive solution compared to the other options mentioned here. There really isn’t much more to say about this hitch. Very nice option, at a steep price.

This hitch is unique. The Harbor Freight Hitch, I-Match Hitch, and even all other Land Pride hitches require bushings to be attached to each attachment. These bushings are expensive, especially if you have lots of attachments. I’ve included a link to the least expensive ones I can find here. Perhaps not the right place to put the link, becau...

Take one look at my tractor, you’ll see my choice. Harbor Freight (Chinese) quick hitch with replacement extended hook. This is purely because of cost reasons. Before my MAGA friends blast me for this recommendation, remember that it is very likely that the I-Match is not made in USA either. If you are purchasing your tractor new, you can certainly...

  3. Feb 2, 2021 · Category 4. The most durable three-point hitch category adds another 1/2 inch or more to the link pin diameters. They come in at 1 3/4 inch (top link pin) and 2 inches (lift arm pins). When installed on tractors offering between 180 and 400 horsepower, it’s hard to conceive of a task that a Category 4 hitch can’t handle.

  4. Aug 2, 2023 · The design of each category is the same, but the hitch pin sizes and lower hitch spacing vary by category. Category zero 3-point hitches are almost exclusively found on garden tractors and lawn tractors and are considered light-duty. Category three 3-point hitches are designed for tractors with 80 to 225 drawbar horsepower.

  5. A 3-point hitch is typically permanently mounted to the rear of a tractor. The hitch consists of two lift arms as well as a top link. The lift arms are controlled by the tractor’s hydraulic system to allow for up and down movement of the arms and thus the implement attached to them. The top link keeps the implement in in the same vertical ...

  7. So, the category of a three-point hitch is really very simply referring to the size of these balls on the back and the size of the pins that go into them. The smallest hitch category is Category 0. We don't actually even have any Category 0 stuff out here on our lots. It's typically reserved for the smallest garden tractors that typically can ...
