Prince Novel is the main antagonist of the 2013 computer-animated German film Knight Rusty. He is a robotic knight of Scrapland who sought to overrule King Leadfoot to become the kingdom's next king.

He was voiced by Christoph Maria Herbst in the German version and Thomas Nelstrop in the English version.

In the mechanical medieval kingdom of Scrapland, Prince Novel is a wealthy robot knight who participates in the annual jousting tournament, having won every tournament for the past five years. He also has a hobby of building a larger castle each year, angering King Leadfoot as Novel's castle was bigger than his. Before the next tournament, the motor for his steed was stolen by a junkie, who sells it to Knight Rusty in exchange for the sewing machine of his human mistress Bo.

Using the motor, Rusty effortlessly wins the tournament, but Novel recognizes the exhaust noise from Rusty's steed as his motor and assumes Rusty was the thief. In front of everyone, Novel accuses Rusty of stealing his motor, resulting in Rusty not only being disqualified from the tournament, but losing the privilege to his knighthood and castle as a result. After Bo decides to leave Rusty, she is found by Novel, who offers her residency within his castle.

While staying at Novel's castle, Novel impresses Bo with a massive sewing machine capable of creating any dress she wants. Rusty then arrives and tries to win Bo back after retrieving her sewing machine from the junkie, only to accidentally drop it and it shatters into pieces in front of her. As Bo cries, Novel encourages Rusty to leave it as Bo had a new sewing machine and no more use for the old one. Angered, Rusty takes his leave, but not before telling Bo to enjoy her new life.

That night, while Bo takes a wrench out of the storage compartment to fix the sewing machine, she eavesdrops on Novel telling his sergeant his plan to usurp King Leadfoot as the new king of Scrapland, where he will force everyone to adapt to new and more advanced technology. Bo decides to leave the castle, only to be caught by Novel. He insists Bo join him as the queen of his new nation. She refuses to take part in his scheme, prompting Novel to imprison her within her room as she knew too much.

While locked in her room, Bo finds a hidden chamber under her room filled with other maidens previously imprisoned by Novel. They use their bed sheets to create a ladder to scale down the castle. By morning, Bo makes it to King Leadfoot's castle to warn him, who was currently occupied reestablishing Rusty's knighthood after bringing the head of Bernie the dragon. Just then, Novel and his soldiers burst in and seize the throne, declaring himself the king of "New Scrapland" and places both King Leadfoot and his advisor Ernie under arrest. He then has his minions install a crown on his head.

Novel once again requests Bo become his queen, but is yet again declined. Novel decides to forcefully change Bo's mind by bringing in a large shredder machine. A magnet picks up Rusty and dangles him above the shredder, with Novel threatening to drop Rusty to his death. Before Novel presses a button to lower the magnet into the shredder, Bo accepts his offer if he spared turning Rusty into scrap. Satisfied, Novel takes her to his castle to be wedded in the morning while sending Leadfoot and Ernie to the dungeon.

At first glance, it may seem like Prince Novel is a genuinely kind and heroic prince who wishes what's best for Bo, as he takes her to his home castle where he offers her a place to stay. However, in the middle of the film, Novel's true nature is finally shown: power-hungry, selfish, and egotistical; he will use any means necessary to overthrow King Leadfoot as the New King of New Scrapland, which is not limited to killing Knight Rusty for getting in the way, only resenting from shredding him alive when Bo agrees to marry him.

While he seemed to genuinely love Bo at first, it's when she rejects his offer due to never seeing him in a romantic light and just as a friend, and later on, upon seeing his true colors; he locks her inside the castle where she finds out that other women just like her were tossed in the dungeon beneath her room. While he could've just let them go because of finding someone else more attractive, he instead imprisoned them due to not wanting anyone else to know about his plans. Thus, it makes it questionable if he ever truly loved her in the first place; she even calls him a pig when he apprehends Leadfoot.
