Oct 20, 2023 · There are a couple of morals embedded in Hagopian’s parable, which should help to simplify and crystallize some of the issues with taxation and redistribution. Not only does it show just how arbitrary a progressive taxation system is, it demonstrates how working harder and smarter gets punished, while working less gets rewarded.
