Kenan & Kel focuses on the misadventures of two teenage boys: Kenan Rockmore (Thompson) and Kel Kimble (Mitchell). They spend most of their time at Kenan's house with his parents, Roger (Foree) and Sheryl (Marchande), and younger sister, Kyra (Baden), who has a crush on Kel.
Kel comes down with the flu and Kenan inadvertently succeeds in inventing a cure for it. When Roger gets Kel's flu, they make a new batch for him to take to work at the airport, but the new batch doesn't cure the flu; it puts people to sleep.
