Access web mail from My Virgin Media, enter email and password. Check emails by selecting Check Emails or sign in to Virgin Media Web Mail.

Turn on the Holiday notice option, write an out-of-office message and set when it should send. To turn off again return to the same screen and tap the slider left then select Apply changes again.
Just make sure you change it to an email address personal to you, and not an email address that belongs to someone else. Sign in to My Virgin Media using your current details. Select Account settings. Then tap on Account details. Next to where you can see your email address, select Edit. Sign in to My Virgin Media.
