Throughout history, in order to make the Kutani-ware and lacquer ware of this region famous throughout the world, our college and its graduates have been right in the middle of various art scenes unfolding within Japan and around the globe. Last year, the College celebrated its 70th anniversary, and continues to search for fresh artistic ground.
About. Kanazawa College of Art was founded in 1946 by the Kanazawa municipal government following World War II, and became a full-fledged university in 1955. The graduate program was established in 1979. Currently, on an annual basis the school enrolls 145 undergraduates, 32 for the master's program, and seven in the doctoral program.
During 2019–23, as Professor of Craft at Kanazawa College of Art, she modernised the curriculum. Throughout her career as an academic, educator and museum professional, she has pursued active leadership in enhancing inclusivity by collaborating with colleagues to create new curricula, writing untold histories and curating exhibitions of underrepresented arts.

Relocation and improvement plan for Kanazawa College of Art, which was located in the center of Kanazawa City. An art promenade running north-south was established in the center of the campus. It faces the Ishikawa Prefectural Library (designed by Mitsuru Senda + Environmental Design Institute, 2207 in this issue) via a road on the north side.
