Jun Fukamachi - On The Move - 1978. Picture. Since I started getting into Jazz Fusion from Japanese artist this record definitely stood out. The title track “On the Move” is definitely up there with my favorite Fusion tracks. Such a banger and kinda gives me good vibes, especially while working just blasting this in my headphones.
Jun Fukamachi (深町 純, Fukamachi Jun, May 21, 1946 – November 22, 2010) was a Japanese jazz fusion composer, arranger, and keyboardist. He played with The Brecker Brothers and Steve Gadd and released albums for Polydor and Toshiba in the 1970s.

In 1982, the trailblazing Japanese fashion designer Mitsuhiro Matsuda, founder of clothing label Nicole, expanded his company and opened his namesake boutique called Matsuda in New York City. To celebrate the occasion, he held a fashion show at an RCA recording studio.
After using an American band on the last couple of recordings, keyboard player Jun Fukamachi worked with mostly Japanese muscians for this recording, with Kenji Omura on guitar, Martin Willweber and Ponta Murakami on drums, Rei Ohara on bass, and Saito Nobu on percussion.
