Feb 9, 2015 · PV BW's. The 1201-08 was available in a metal dust cap and a paper dust cap basket. For really bright tones the metal cap ones work great so if you have a dark sounding guitar these balance out somewhat. The paper dust cap speakers are really similar to a JBL D-120 paper dust cap tone wise but handle more power.
Jul 13, 2021 · Aug 1, 2021. #8. 1) We don't know for sure what material blend is in the original connector plates. 2) Cross sectional area matters and so does contact area to the terminals where the plates seem to win vs the wire. 3) Only part of the amps energy goes through the plates, the bass woofer uses most of the current.

While reading another thread - Hi-Fi Upgrades That Cost Almost Nothing - I was reminded that there have been various posts where people have suggested replacing the jumper plates provided on speakers to bridge the LF and HF terminals with a short piece of speaker wire to improve speaker performance and clarity, etc.

I’ve used separate cable brands/types off of the same amp (bi-wiring) and off of separate amps (bi-amping). Depends on one’s goals. I've found more room for tuning with bi-amping, with different cable types.

Apr 5, 2017 · I have heard systems where it was worthwhile putting in really high grade jumpers (costing well north of $1,000). For most speakers, bi-wiring is really not the best approach, at least at any given price level, so it is unfortunate that manufacturers have taken to putting in the two binding posts.
