If you plug into the normal channel of a JTM45 and crank it up then goose the bright channel volume you will hear the tone brighten a little bit. But your idea won't do anything.

  6. Feb 7, 2007 · Looking around at the Fender Amp Field guide I couldn't find amps without reverb whose channels were out of phase. Maybe the brown Bassman amps, but there I thought it was a follower not a gain stage added. Jumping channels kicks up the voltage going to the power amp section by 2, this can put a non-master amp to distort more.

Plug your guitar into input 1 and send input 2 to the input of another amp. Doesn’t work too well on deluxe reverb models because the reverb recovery stage flips the channels out of phase.
