  4. Norfolk, John Mowbray, 3rd duke of (141561). After coming of age in 1436, Norfolk had a brief career in public service, in the relief of Calais from siege, as warden of the east march, and as an ambassador in Anglo-French negotiations.

  5. When John Mowbray was born on 1 August 1365, in Epworth, Lincolnshire, England, his father, Sir John de Mowbray III, was 25 and his mother, Elizabeth Segrave, was 26. He died before 12 February 1383, in his hometown, and was buried in London, England.
