Champion Mojo Storyteller Joe R. Lansdale has written novels and stories in many genres, including Western, horror, science fiction, mystery, and suspense. He has also written for comics as well as "Batman: The Animated Series."
He has received nine Bram Stoker Awards, the American Mystery Award, the British Fantasy Award, the Grinzane Cavour Prize for Literature. He lives in Nacogdoches, Texas with his wife, dog, and two cats.
Jun 26, 2024 · Lansdale and his family have lived in Nacogdoches for more than 30 years. His wife, Karen Lansdale, was the first woman to serve as a dispatcher for the fire department in Nacogdoches. Together they raised two children, both of whom have followed creative paths.
