Compulsively creative since childhood, Joe won awards for his oil paintings but was later drawn to writing and filmmaking.
A native of Philadelphia, PA, Joe pursued a career as a painter and cartoonist before winning a FOCUS Award for writing that brought him to AFI's national film conservatory in Los Angeles as a Producing Fellow.
