Joaquim Jordà va néixer el 9 d’agost de 1935, fill del notari de Santa Coloma de Farners (Girona). Va créixer amb una gran afició pel cinema i, ben aviat, va tenir el somni d’esdevenir escriptor.
La azarosa trayectoria de Jordà demuestra que su cine es reflejo de modelos de producción dispares y a veces antitéticos. En su filmografía hay documentales, ficciones y películas militantes, así como formatos distintos y presupuestos desiguales.
