There would be no Branch Rickey, the Brooklyn Dodgers owner who hired Jackie Robinson. There would be instead a tiny Tampa high school called Jesuit. In 1964, Jesuit became among the first Florida high schools to integrate.

It’s been that long since Jesuit’s 1978 team went up against St. Augustine in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Jesuit managed to finish this game strong, culminating in another touchdown thanks to superb blocking by Ralph Buckley allowing for a draw up the middle.
