Nicolas Taulbee joined the Missouri Attorney General’s Office in January 2009 in the Financial Services Division where he represented the Missouri Department of Social Services in state and federal court in cases involving paternity, child support, state debt, and other administrative law issues.

The attorney generals office was created in 1806 when Missouri was part of the Louisiana Territory. Missouris first constitution (1820) provided for an appointed attorney general. Since the 1865 constitution, the attorney general has been elected.
