I think a properly trained, regulated counsellor or therapist can do a lot of good, especially to help someone get over a trauma or childhood issues, rather than to decide what to do with their life. But life coaching isn’t regulated and seems much more dodgy.
The Life Coach School offered two different programs, one is a membership to get coached and learn amazing new tools, the other was a certification to become a Life Coach. I got certified and am part of the membership. It has its price - and for me, it's worth every dollar. What I've learned was mind-blowing and life changing.
