Jan Andrzej Paweł Kaczmarek (Polish: [jan ˈandʐɛj ˈpavɛw kat͡ʂˈmarɛk]; 29 April 1953 – 21 May 2024) was a Polish composer. He wrote scores for more than 70 feature films and documentaries, including Finding Neverland (2004), for which he won an Oscar and a National Board of Review Award.

May 21, 2024 · Jan A.P. Kaczmarek passed away today at age 71 in Krakow, Poland after a long battle with multiple system atrophy (MSA). The composer wrote numerous scores for film and television since the mid 1980s and received an Academy Award for his music for Marc Forster’s 2004 drama Finding Neverland.

In February 2005, Jan won his first Oscar for Best Original Score on Marc Forster’s highly acclaimed film, Finding Neverland.
