Aug 14, 2020 · Jake – We’re doing a new musical for a cast of almost entirely over sixties, who are hugely unrepresented in main roles in musical theatre other than as quirky ‘comedy elder’ supporting parts. It’s an unconventional love story that is incredibly sad but – hopefully – very funny too.

Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary are a London-based musical theatre writing partnership. They met at Bristol University, where they were studying Drama and Music respectively.
Jake Brunger (book and lyrics) and Pippa Cleary (music and lyrics) met at Bristol University, where they were studying Drama and Music respectively. They have been described by The Stage newspaper as “one of the most exciting musical theatre writing teams working in the UK today”.
In 2018 they headlined their first sell-out concert at Live at Zedel, which can be viewed online here. They were chosen for the 2013 Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project in Chicago and in February 2016 they were made Associate Artists of Leicester Curve by Artistic Director Nikolai Foster.
Mar 16, 2015 · JAKE: It’s been something of a small military operation really. There are three sets of children for the roles of Barry, Nigel and Pandora and there are four Adrian Moles! Every week they have to go to school for 15 hours, so each set in turn has either been watching, rehearsing, or at school.
