- Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette. The Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette is easily the most famous Renoir painting. Finished in 1876, this oil painting depicts a scene in an outdoor dance hall, Moulin de la Galette, in the Paris art district of Montmartre.
