Jan 28, 2024 · Testing this on a K-1 was a pleasant surprise. Sharpness at 70mm is excellent and very good to 200mm when stopped down to f8-11. 300mm wide open is a bit soft and low contrast, but stopped down to f8 and sharpened, some quite decent results are possible.

CA (Chromatic Aberration) is measured with any in-camera corrections switched off, as far as we can know anyway. In this case, something may well be going on under the skin as the CA results are incredibly good. Apart from a slight amount at 28mm and the two smallest apertures, there is no sign of significant CA at all.
Distortion is also remarkable for its absence. Apart from 14mm, the lens is virtually rectilinear, measuring just a little barrel distortion throughout the range.
