What's nice about Yandex is that you don't have to give them your phone number. I do not recommend you to use anything from Yandex or Mail.ru. These companies are cancer and heavily affiliated with FSB and Russian Government.
I have been using Yandex for years: literally and absolutely zero issues whatsoever. If anything their spam filters are way way better than Gmail's and would advise it in a heartbeat if somebody needs a free email provider.
