Aug 22, 2023 · This campground is for you if you want to enjoy the outdoors yet skip the traditional RV and tent camping that Van Damme offers. The luxe campground also offers additional activities on the grounds such as bocce ball, hammocks, books, games, and a private hiking trail.
The park proper is a great spot for camping or day use. I usually park my car at the beach lot and bike into the park to avoid the fee. The paved road gives way to a great bike/hike trail through thick canopied trees and lush ferns along the little river.

This site campground has sites spread out along a river and a bog, and has easy access to trails leading to the coast and charming pygmy forest. There are 69 reservable sites as well as a few hike/bike sites, and while they are not the most spacious, they still make for a great spot to soak up the beautiful surroundings.

Jul 26, 2020 · The campground is walking distance to Little River Inn (and Wild Fish Restaurant) through a path from the picnic area near the park entrance (walking on highway one is treacherous). Location is perfect for exploring Mendocino area.
