I have done Udacity (nanodegrees), edX, Coursera, DataCamp, Codecademy, and Udemy courses over the years. I can't speak for Udacity nanodegrees of today, but overall, I would not say Udacity is a scam, though I would say that the value of Udacity is very different from the others.
I know this is an old post, but thanks so much for the reviews and honest comments. I recently got a targeted Facebook ad touting a scholarship for a nano degree and of course went off in search to see if this was legitimate and what the true cost and trajectory would be.
I'm in the process of wrapping up the AI nanodegree and at this point I can say it has some decent value, but the certificate itself is questionable and I personally don't think it's worth the money. For background, I'm mid 30s with a Bachelors in Computer Science and well over a decade as a backend and mobile engineer in the industry.
