Admissions & Financial Aid. Through its admission process, Tulane looks for students who demonstrate the potential to succeed as law students and as lawyers, and who will contribute to our educational community and to the legal community at large.
Recommendations aren’t required, but they help--if they are written by professors or employers who know your work well. We strongly encourage use of the Law School Admission Council letter of recommendation service.
I am Tulane Law School's admissions dean. I posted a bit here during the peak pandemic years, but have not done so much lately. Tulane's application for Fall 2024 JD Admission won't go live until mid-September, but we've updated our website with our application essay information, and I figured I would come on here to mention the changes.
We encourage and prefer use of the Law School Admission Council's Letter of Recommendation Service, which is included in the subscription to CAS. While you must apply electronically, PDF copies of our application form questions are available upon request; please e-mail us at lawadmissions@tulane.edu or call 504-865-5930.
Next, prepare for and take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), a crucial component of your application. Gather your academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a compelling personal statement that highlights your motivations and qualifications.
If you are accepted into the program, you will have to request official transcripts to be sent to Tulane School of Science and Engineering before you register for your graduate coursework. The address and information required to submit official transcripts is included in the letters of admission.

In general, it is a good idea to have two academic letters of evaluation/recommendation on file with the LSAC Credential Assembly Service (CAS). If you have a potentially strong recommendation from a professional context, or from another non-academic source, you may also have that sent to the CAS.
