Dec 25, 2023 · Tortuga Bay can rightly be described as a hidden gem, in fact, its best feature is tucked away so well that many people only go as far as Playa Brava – a beach where swimming is prohibited. You can visit Tortuga Bay without a guide which is awesome but means it’s best to know all you can before you go.

This extraordinary destination boasts a secluded sanctuary concealed so well that most visitors rarely venture past Playa Brava, a beautiful beach where swimming is restricted.
Absolutely stunning beach. The sand is fine and white, the water color is incredible and the iguanas were not scared and posing for our pics😃. The bay right after was great to swim and refresh but the water is a little mirky. Worth the 35 min walk from the registration point so 40 from downtown.
