But Tin Man is definitely its own film and a totally different story -- though ultimately it offers a similar message about the value of family. The original, though a timeless classic, may seem a bit too sugary to some people these days; this dark, modern version is an exciting and interesting update (though, at six hours, it sometimes drags).

Nov 27, 2007 · No one could be blamed for chuckling the first time a character in Tin Man unironically refers to his bizarre homeland, the Outer Zone, as “the O.Z.”
A mildly interesting Sci-Fi original, worthy of viewing at least once. someguywithdsl 13 December 2007. In some ways, Tin Man is typical Sci-Fi drivel (not nearly up to the standards of the new Battlestar Galactica). Acting and CGI were about on par with the new episodes of Stargate Atlantis.
