5 days ago · The Bomar sight picture is the best around. Nothing better for sight crankers. I might choose a YoBo or a Yam or a Heinie but the sight picture I want is the Bomar. The Bomar does offer a chance for nice detail on sinking the sights low and fitting around the windage screw.
Jul 20, 2024 · So last night I measured the front and rear sights for centering purposes. Front sight was .003/.004 right so a small tap and it was good. The rear sight is .010 to the left and there is no drifting to remedy so I centered the blade of the rear to the exact middle of the slide. It still shoots left but is closer to POA.
Jun 4, 2010 · Bomar is long gone. You would need the BMCS-2 to have self contained elevation, at the cost of a slightly higher line of sight. You could see Kensight, they sell copies of several popular sights.
Mar 13, 2008 · The BoMar type sight is the preferred and most common adjustable sight on competition guns. OTOH, the Novak cut is easier to do (or so I think. I wouldn't know where to start cutting) and there are a variety of sights that fit it (Novak, LPA, Heinie, Champion/STI, YO-BO) including some adjustables.
- Gun on the left is Novak, right is Bomar. Bomar is the cut if you want adjustable sights. Novak would be if you want a fixed sight.
