Bo-Mar sights could also be found with this mark on the side of the base opposite the "BO-MAR" marking. Weird thing that came to light once my old rear was removed: the hole that accepts the adjusting screw is noticeably off-center in the slide, while the screw hole in the sight itself is clearly dead-center of the sight. This made the old sight off-center on the slide.
