Technically, yes, timeline-wise it's before, but it doesn't lead or reference into another story, nor does another story reference it in any way. I think I did mention that there are a few other timelines out there that are made strictly chronologically as to when the events in the book take place.

After The Horus Hersey, everything is a massive jumble. I'd really advise you not bother trying to follow any sort of timeline in regards to what you read. There is a timeline, it's a pretty interesting itself if you have some time to kill, but you should really read the books you like the sound of.
