The Simple-Minded Murderer (Swedish: Den enfaldige mördaren) is a 1982 Swedish drama film directed by Hans Alfredson, starring Stellan Skarsgård, as the feeble-minded Sven Olsson. It was released to cinemas in Sweden on 12 February 1982.
Hans Alfredson, a well-known Swedish comedian, took the risk of directing a film based on his own short story "En ond man" and playing Hoglund, the main antagonist. Every direction the film follows succeeded brilliantly.

Overview. The feeble-minded Sven's mother dies and he gets work as a farm-hand at the rich, affluent Höglund's farm. He has to work without pay and sleeps together with the cows. He meets the disabled Anna who is the first one to treat him as an adult. One day he has had enough of Höglund's maltreatment and moves in with Anna's family.
The simple-minded murderer expertly crafted a simplistic storyline of horrific wealthy businessmen against an honest feeble-minded Sven was a harrowing experience. Stellan Skarsgård's magnificent bittersweet performances brung a purity to the oppression the character is forced to suffer.
