The Outpost recently popped onto Netflix Canada. I thought it was really good overall without knowing more in terms of if people were portrayed accurately. My biggest complaint is it seemed the rather lower budget in terms of the effects. Really reminds me of the actor portrayed documentaries on history channel, not a major Hollywood film.
But The Outpost IMO comes much closer to the brutal reality. First you have Combat Outpost Keating, a tiny fort the Army built at the base of three mountains in hopes of winning over the Afghans in nearby villages.

Recently released on Netflix, after hitting VOD this past summer, The Outpost is a superbly-executed war film featuring nice, nuanced performances.
