- Thomas starts to remember things from his past life almost immediately. After relearning his name, he begins having dreams, dreams which feature himself and a young woman along with an older voice constantly purring "Wicked is good."
- In the movie, Alby and Thomas get along pretty well. Instead of being negative and somewhat antagonistic toward Thomas, Alby takes on a mentoring role early on.
- Minho is braver during the night he is stuck in the maze with Thomas and Alby. Thomas is just as obsessed with the maze in the movie as in the book, and when he makes the decision to run into the maze as the doors are closing, Minho stick around and tries to help launch Alby into the ivy.
- The serum appears just in time to save Alby from a griever sting. In the books, the serum to save those stung by the grievers is taken for granted and a part of everyday life in The Glade.
Jul 4, 2023 · All in all, The Maze Runner film adaptation is a fun movie, worth watching. Many elements are changed form the novel, but that’s mainly to create a more fun experience for watchers.

The first movie was the only movie that was similar to the book, the rest are just a new concept almost entirely. The movies did so many people dirty, including Teresa, Newt and my homegirl Brenda. In the book Teresa HAD to betray them in order to save Thomas's life, she was forced to work for WICKED and she soon realised that they were not good.
Half of it is missing but in the book the scotch trial it is really a trial. Wicked make them believe that at the end the survivors will go to the safe haven. We also learn that other trials are underway.
The first movie is relatively close to the book, aside from a couple of minor details. The scorch trials and death cure movies however are really quite different from the books. From character deaths to story lines etc.
The Maze Runner is the first novel in The Maze Runner series, followed by The Scorch Trials (2010) and The Death Cure (2011). A film adaptation, directed by Wes Ball, was released in 2014 by 20th Century Fox and stars Dylan O’Brien as Thomas.
Apr 1, 2024 · While The Maze Runner does a moderately good job of getting the bones of Dashner's book into the movie adaptation, the differences are apparent. Whether the book or movie ending works better will likely depend on the viewer.
